Sunrisetreks is run by Steve Sampson. Steve has over 18 years experience of hill walking and mountaineering in the UK, Europe and beyond. He is a qualified International Mountain Leader, Summer ML and Winter ML. He holds a current First Aid Certificate.
Steve is currently providing Mountain Safety Courses for hill walkers, Navigation Courses and and Winter Skills Training as well as guided walking and scrambles. He is also a freelance Instructor training Duke of Edinburgh candidates.
Steve is a freelance expedition leader for a large commercial company, specialising in leadership and personal development training for young people, visiting; Nepal, (Annapurna Circuit), Ladakh, (Stok Kangri), Tanzania, (Kilimanjaro), Thailand, Zambia, Malawi, Ecuador, Peru, Morocco, Iceland and the Polish Tatras.
This is as well as his own trips to the Swiss and French Alps, Pyrenees, Dolomites, Slovenia, Mount Toubkal in Morocco, Nepal, and not forgetting the wealth of mountain walking available in Britain.
Steve is fully qualified for the terrain on which he operates. For leading in Europe and beyond, the appropriate qualification is the International Mountain Leader Award. For the UK Winter trips and courses, it is the Winter Mountain Leader Award.
